Internet Connection Icon

Until last week I had two icons on the network connections.
one was for the internet connection and the other one was for the Lan
connection.
The internet connection icon was showing me the connection between the
linksys router and the modem cable.

Now today I have only the LAN connection icon. The Internet connection icon
disappeared. Some body know how can I bring it up?

Look at the properties for the network connection. There is a checkbox to
enable a system tray icon.
