I think Jeff might have meant for you to uncheck #4. (Of course this
means you should always have a dialup or LAN connection before starting
Outlook.)
Also in the are that Brian T suggested, what was select before you moved
it to LAN? If it was select to use Internet Explorer, I would jump into
IE an see how you have the connection options set there.

Hi,
I'm using Outlook 2003. When I launch outlook and dial my internet
connection (I have it set to send/receive on startup) as soon as
mail is delivered, I am then disconnected from the internet.
Is there a way to make sure that I am not disconnected after
checking?
TIA.
Ronnie.
Hi Neo,
I have :
1) "Send immediately when connected" check box ticked
2) "Warn before switching an existing dial-up connection" radio button
un-selected
3) "Always use an existing dial-up connection" radio button selected
4) "Automatically dial during a background Send/Receive" check box
ticked
5) "Hang up when finished with a manual Send/Receive" check box
un-ticked
Thanks,
Ronnie.
Uncheck the hang-up-when-done option (#5 above).
It is (un-ticked).
Ronnie.
