internet access

I have a PC running Window 2000. Everything works good except it will not
open any web pages, its like there is no connection but there is 2 different
ways it can connect and both appear to be working OK. Other PCs plugged into
this network connection work OK too.

Any help?

Check to see that the internet calls are'nt being routed to a non
existant proxy server in Tools> Internet Options > Connections > Lan
settings, also check that names are being resolved via a DNS server

For instance

http://216.239.59.147

should go to Google

Can you ping anything by URL or IP address on the Internet? What are the
results if you ping/trace these items?
