Internet access

Hello there, any help with this problem would be
appreciated as my head is starting to hurt from banging it
against a brick wall!!!!

the problem,
Got a small network running dhcp, 1 domain: To setup a
server to run as vpn/ftp server we had to change adsl
router and server to static ip, which we got from our isp
(BT - avoid them), which have done ok.
But it has put them on a new subnet, all pc's (approx 20)
on internal/differnet subnet cannot now access the
internet, does any one have any ideas?
i have tried to connect thru server running 2 NICs with
NIC1 having a default gateway of the other NIC address on
new subnet but cannot get it to work.

thanks.

sounds like DNS issue. since you have a domain it is better to setup an
internal DNS.

We really need a bit more info to say much about that. It depends on how
you have configured the server and the router. There are several ways to do
it, and some work better than others. A simple diagram of the network would
help, with IP addresses and default gateways. eg

Internet
|
router
IP? subnet mask?
|
IP? subnet mask? dg?
server
192.168.1.1 dg blank
|
192.168.1.x dg 192.168.1.1

Is the router doing NAT, or does the server have a valid public IP (so
that the server can do NAT for the clients)?
