Internal keyboard/mouse not working after installing SP2

Evert

I have a Acer Travelmate 650 notebook. After I install SP2 my
internal keyboard and mouse are not working. I tried to do a clean
install and tried the XP version with SP2 intergrated but still the
same problem. When I start in safe mode my internal keyboard and
mouse are working. After I uninstall SP2 my keyboard and mouse are
working again. My external USB mouse is working fine.

Anybody have an idea?

Thanks in advance,

You need to get updated drivers for those devices from Acer.

Same problem here.
Acer Travelmate650 seems to be not compatible with SP2.
There is some big issue with the Touchpad, after installing
and rebooting I get dead keyboard and touchpad, yellow
marker on the touchpad in the control panel, device not
working.

Don't even try to update the drivers if there aren't brand
new ones, the newest i could find are from year 2003 and
nothing changes using those.

Our only hope is that Acer gets aware quickly of the issue,
makes some tests and release new drivers and bios to
support the SP2.

I wrote to the Acer Support Italy and they answred they
don't have any information about compatibility problems
involving their products and SP2.
That is not fair since there was some time to test SP2 now.

If you have the "advantage" insurance i suggest you to
phone the assistance and complain about the problem
(otherwise you have to pay for the call since it is an "hot
line").

Maybe after some users worldwide complain about it, Acer
will do something.

Regards.

Same problem here,
I have an Acer Travelmate 653LCi. I tried to install SP2, but no mouse
or keyboard. I used remote desktop to use my laptop and uninstalled
the SP.
Good idea to write to Acer. I will leave a message there.

We will see if they update their drivers.

Hi there,
No news yet, but here's just a warning. Watch out for other updates
from microsoft windows XP, they have the same problem (no mouse and
keyboard).
I installed them, but did not know which update it was I had to
install, so I just uninstalled them one by one.
Not a nice job, so therfore this warning.

I'm also following this forum to see if they find something. (for
those who can read german). If I read something interesting, I let you
know.

IT WORKED, I DID IT, FINALY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yes, I just did it.
First I downloaded the new BIOS update (3A38)from the Acer site and
flashed it (windows)
Then I re-installed all the drivers (from the acer site).
Then I installed SP2,
Then there was stil no keyboard and mouse, so I restarted my PC,
pressed F2 for bios setup, activated the default settings.
And then..............It just happend. I installed it.
So, updating the drivers might not be needed, going back to defaut
bios settings with the new bios version did the trick.

Hope you are all as "lucky" as I am.

Hi,
Did you try to completely switch off the notebook?
Extract the battery for 3 minutes and unplug it?
I did it going back to original XP. Now I have another problem,
Bluetooth doesn't work any more!
