Intermittent slowness using windows 2000 pro

I am having issues with IBM Machines (both Laptop's and Desktop's).
When trying to logon to the PC there is a lag in displaying the password or
moving to the username. It doesnt happen all the time but when it does users
notice it and report this problem on a regular basis. Also when using
applications like MS Office 2000 pro the same problem arises.

Does anyone have any suggestions?
 
need to scan ur desktop/laptop for virus infection or torjans like keylogger.
