Intermittent "Operation Failed" message when manually sending emai

Some time I get the "Operation Failed" message when I try to manually send
email messages. I can usually stop this problem by rebooting my computer.
What causes this and is there anything I can do to prevent it. I am runnig
Outlook 2002 (XP).

most time a new profile helps!
