Interesting problem with default index page

I was told this was a server issue when I asked this once before, but here's
why I don't think so.....

If I add a new page to an empty folder in FP 2003 (working live on the
server), it names it new_page_1.htm
If I do the same thing with FP 2000 on the same website it names it
index.html, which is what I'd prefer.

How can I make FP 2003 name a new page in a new folder index.html?

FP will only add a default document, in your case, index.html when the folder doesn't contain a
default document and you are in Folder View. If the folder contains a default document, then FP will
name the page new_page_1.htm or if you are not in folder view.

Like I said, same server, same website.. It works in FP2000, it doesn't in
FP2003
I do all of my page adding in folder view, never do it any other way.
If I have an empty folder, there is no default document there already.
