Interesting Differences and hangs after SP2 install

I installed SP2 on 2 XP Pro machines. Only difference between the two is:
1) Soyo Motherboard w/ on board LAN and ATI video card
2) Abit motherboard w/ on board LAN and Abit Siluro FX 5900 (OTES II)

They had the same base installation, and were SP2 upgraded on the same day.
Now, if I go into the properties of my local connection on PC #1, make any
adjustment and then hit close, it can take it 30 min or longer to close and
sometimes does not close without restart. Other admin function windows
tend to do the same, including the Add/Remove programs windows.
On PC #2 I have no issues, though sometimes it does not show as in the
workgroup and sometimes does not see the workgroup.

All IPs are set manually, with no collisions. All connected to each other
via a router/switch.

Sometimes there are issues with PC #1 (occasional "send report" windows come
up on startup). When I "Send" it comes back with a microsoft webpage that
tells me to install SP2.

Properties of My Computer tells me I am running SP2. Funky.

So, I am thinking I need to uninstall and reinstall SP2. Any other
thoughts?

Also forgot to mention, when I got to the "Add/Remove programs" selections
for both computers,under "Add/Remove Windows Components" what is available
for adding or removing on PC #1 does not show the same on PC #2. Some
selections are missing, and some are available that are not on the other.
None of them are hardware specific.
