interconnectivity / cordless mouse

1. I have 2 toshiba laptops. One does not have CD or
floppy drive; other does. I want to connect them so I can
simply transfer info from one to another easily. Many
bits of 'shop assistant' advice don't help. I hear about
crosslink cables, laplink etc. what is the easiest
foolproof method? I also want to be able to use both when
not near any 'online' facility.
2. I have also just bought a Targus PAUM 005 cordless
mini mouse (USB connection). The laptop recognises it
when I connect but the mouse seems to be sleeping very
soundly. I can't wake the gizmo up.

Please help.
Thanks
PB

If both of them have Nic adapter plugs then get a "CROSSOVER" nic cable.

Make sure you have all of the appropriate protocols installed

Make sure both are assigned to the same workgroup name.

Make sure you have at least one folder in each with share privileges.
