Inter side Topology generator

Hi,

in the default first site (active directory sites and services -> ntds
settings -> propertys) there is a wrong server name in the Inter side
Topology generator field.
How can i change it to the correct server name?

In the eventlog i get a lot of errors regarding the kcc (i think because of
the wrong server name)

Event id: 1567
Event Type: Error
Event Source: NTDS KCC
Event Category: Knowledge Consistency Checker
Event ID: 1567

regards rex

why do you think it is the wrong server name? because it is not replicating
with other DCs in other sites?. The ISTG sets up the intersite replication
and auto chooses bridgehead server or uses the configured preferred
bridgehead servers.

Please answer the following...

which domains are in what sites?
which DCs are a GC
Do you have preferred bridgeheads configured? in what sites? why?

Because this server name does not exist in the network.
I was told that during a mirgation the server was set up and later removed
from the domain. It was just cut off the network.

Hello,

Thank you for posting.

From you post, I found that the server was established during migration and
removed later. I'd like to confirm one thing with you:
Did you use DCPROMO utility to demote the server in a standard way? Or just
disconnect it from network directly?

If you accomplish the process in the latter way, I think a cleanup in AD
was needed. To perform this operation, please refer to the following KB
article:
NOTE: I strongly recommend you to FULLY BACKUP your servers before taking
above actions.
