IntelliMouse Explorer Product ID

I'm trying to get support for my Microsoft IntelliMouse
Explorer 3. The scroll wheel has become stiff and
therefore requires too much force (which forces me to
depress the middle button - quite a pain!)

Thus, I was filling in the Microsoft Online Assisted
Support, and it asked for my "Product ID number" found on
the bottom of the mouse.

Mine looks like this:
12345-XXX-7654321-9

But it says:
"Please enter a valid Product ID number and try again.
Make sure the Product ID number is of the form: 12345-XXX-
7654321-98765." I do not appear to have these last four
numbers.

So how do I go about getting support for the mouse?

Kind Regards

Perhaps you could give MS a call? Had a problem with a mouse last year.
They had me send a fax that showed the bottom of the mouse (where the
numbers are) and a copy of the receipt. Had a new mouse in days.

Are there four more numbers on the next line?
Might be in a different font, but it is still part of the Product ID

Thank you all

The mouse is retail, not OEM.
However, I no longer have the recepit nor the packaging.

There are definately no other numbers for the Product ID.

I may phone them sometime but prefer to handle these
things online.

So, what now!?

Kind Regards

The online form is not working with the information you are able to feed
into it. You will have to try a different option to proceed any further.
