Intellimouse Explorer 4.0 wheel double-click doesn't work

I have the lastest driver installed (6.0.6000.16386) says Device
Manager after checking the web for a later version) but the wheel will
not perform a double-click. Worked fine in Win2k. Now using Vista Home
Basic on a Dell E520, 3.0GHz Celeron. Tried different USB port--no
change.

I suppose this is one of many drivers that need updating by MS?

Anybody got it to work yet?

Checked your Folder Options\General Tab to see if single click is set

Thanks for the suggestion Peter, but the problem is with using the
intellimouse wheel to cause a double-click, not with opening shortcuts
with a sigle left click, which is what the Folder Options\General tab
refers to.

Anyone else?

Sorry Larry I did misread it and you are right. Try and install an earlier driver like IM5 and up

Hahaha re {bottom posting corrected}. Top posting truncates the text I
was trying to quote, since it follows the "-- " that begins your sig.
That's why I converted it to bottom posting. Anyway, I'll try your
suggestion and post my success/failure.

Cheers,
Larry
