Intel(R) Core Duo processors showing as 2 processors in Device Man

I am having trouble getting Device Manager to recognise the chipset installed
in my laptop. I have downloaded almost every available chipset installation
pack from Intel's website but whatever happens, the processors always show as
two separate Intel processors rather than as a single processor with two
cores.

Has anyone else experienced this problem and can you assit in helping me to
reslove this error.

I run an AMD dual core and under Device manager its listed as 2 64x2's but
under MyComputer it is listed as an AMD 64x2.

In My Computer it is listed as a single processor, but under Device manager
it shows as 2 serparate but, identical processors. It is even listed in the
BIOS as a single processor.

This is normal, how it should be, no problem at all.
