I'm using Vista Home Premium 32-bit, and I'm trying to locate new drivers for
the "Intel Core Duo" processor drivers in Device Manager. My current one is
dated from 2006, and updating these might improve my performance.
Device Manager has a way to update the driver automatically. This hasn't
done anything (actually, for my video card or any other driver). I don't
mind downloading updated drivers manually and installing them, so I checked
Intel first, then Dell (the manufacturer), then Microsoft. I couldn't find
anything on any of these companies' sites. Intel told me to ask Microsoft,
and Dell just said "we don't have anything".
I do understand that the processor doesn't have drivers the same way as
other devices...but I do want to update whatever this software is in Device
Manager. If anyone can recommend where to find the right drivers to download
I will appreciate it greatly.
The reason I want to update them is that I'm having performance issues with
World of Warcraft. My performance mostly involves my (decidedly average)
video capabilities. One particular bug I'm having in the game may relate to
WoW not playing nicely with dual cores, and AMD users have reported
improvements by downloading new drivers. I'd like to do the same.
Apologies if I'm posting to the wrong forum or anything. Thanks for any
help the community can offer.
