intel pro 100 corrupt configuration.

Hello All!
Lately we have ran into a problem which occurs on Intel pro 100.
We have an integrated board of Portwell which consists of an Intel Pro 100.

What we have seen is that on a certain moment (after the system has been up
and running for ages , and with no reboot) , the Default gateway
configuration gets corrupt (0.0.0.3).

Is it a driver problem?
Is it a negotiation problem (between the NIC and the switch) ?

Where should i look for further information?

Is this computer set with a static address or is it getting one via DHCP?
What is it getting DHCP from, if you're using that? How long is the lease
set for?
What kind of switch are you using - and have you tried setting the NIC
settings to something specific like 100/full instead of autosense?
What SP level on this workstation?

If you type

ipconfig /renew <enter>

in a command prompt, what happens?

Thanks a lot for the answer.

The system is on Static IP, not DHCP.
The switch is a CISCO 6000.
The switch is configured to work 100 FULL , while the station is on
Auto/Auto regarding 10/100 and Half/full.
The workstation is an XP Embedded which contains some of the updates of SP1.
The hardware is Portwell System on a board with Intel Pro 100.

There is no IPCONFIG application installed on that machine , so the whole
matter of ipconfig /renew is out of the question.

On the other hand i can tell you is that when i pull out the network plug ,
and then plug it back in , everything goes back to normal.

Does anyone have any ideas?
