Good bye AVG Free soon??

CHIP FIRM Intel has taken a $16 million stake in Grisoft,
manufacturers of the popular AVG anti virus software.

Intel said it is the biggest equity investment it's made in Central
and Eastern Europe. One of the reasons for the investment is because
the Czech firm is now a global player, and its AV software and
firewall is on 25 million computers across the world.

The Czech Republic has to approve the investment. µ

It's inevitable. I don't mind paying for a good product. I don't work
for free and I don't expect anyone else to either.

It would appear that the folks at Grisoft weren't working for free
afterall! (Got them a $16 Million Investment) They probably also gave up
all the AVG Free User Registration Information!

They do sell about eight other products (pro and soho ver's,
server, etc.).

They've been around for about 15 years, now +/-100 ppl, 24x7.

When there is a buyout it's rarely the grunts who profit. Maybe Grisoft
is different, anyone know?
