Intel 945 freaking out on me!

J

Day 1.
Brand new PC lovely.
PC Left on overnight.

Day 2.
Vista has installed an updated driver for my Intel 945g Integrated Gfx card
Every 5 minutes (or less) the gfx driver crashes, restarts, blinks,
continues.
Very very annoying.

Day 3.
Spent most of the day trying various drivers, and looking for ways to
revert back to the original Vista drivers, but can't figure it out.
System restore is only giving me choices where I've personally installed
drivers myself, not Windows, and it doesn't have any points from before
Windows installing the driver.

Any thoughts?

Like I said, I tried everything I could possibly think of.

Roll Back is greyed out.

So I guess that leaves an uninstall of the drivers under Control
Panel/add&remove.
Then reboot and Vista should load its "generic"
I would also suggest you disable automatic download and install of
updates..set the system to notify you of updates and then do a manual update
check where you decide what to update from the MS site.Normally hardware
drivers should be downloaded from the manufacturers website.
good luck
