Intel 82855 Dual Head not working...

I am trying to get an ETX board with an Intel 82855 gfx controller to run in
Dual Head mode... (Independant display on each output).
The display properties control panel window allows me to check the "Extend
my windows desktop onto this monitor" option, but when I click Apply, it just
unchecks that option...

This works ok when running under XP Pro on the same hardware.

Are there any specific XPe components needed to support dual head mode that
I may have missed?

Thanks...

I'm using the same controller with VGA and TV out and it works for me.

I've seen that symptom when there is no monitor connected to the
second port.

Are you using a component or are you installing the driver on your
image?

I am using the driver component from XPE files....
I've tried to use the IEGD driver from the intel site, but the setup utility
just gives an error when I run it.

I am trying to dual-head with the VGA and Panel displays (the panel display
output is converted to another VGA by a custom board). This works fine in XP
Pro, and is running ok as a clone in XPe, but I just can't change the option
to allow proper dual-head mode.

You do have both monitors connected?

I have had some weirdness with the Intel drivers and couldn't get the
one on XPEFiles to work.

I may be able to send you a file. Email me if you want to try it.

Another thought: Is LVDS enabled in your BIOS?

Also, make sure you are changing the settings in the Intel
control panel, not the standard Windows one.
