Integrate an XP client computer from a workgroup into a domain

How do you setup an XP client computer on a workgroup to
communicate and login to a Window 2000 domain server?

First, you must be using XP Pro (Home can't join a domain).

Assuming you are and you have physically connected the XP Pro. machine to
the network:

Right click "My Computer" and choose "Properties"
Click the "Computer Name" tab
Click the "Change" button
Select the "Domain" choice in the "Member Of" area
Type in the domain name you are trying to join
