Intall XP over Vista

Hi

I have installed Vista Ultimate upgrade over XP home,
I am having problems getting any real perfromance out of
my graphics card and do not have the time to sort it out at the moment.

I want to reinstall XP, can I do this without losing my files, settings etc?

thanks

No. You would have to backup all of your data and perform a clean install
of XP.
Boot with the XP cd, delete then recreate and format the partiton.
Reinstall.

Which graphics card do you have? Have you installed the latest drivers for
it?

Thanks Jane (not plain)

It's a pity but there you have it.
I have a nVidia 256 Meg 7600 GT, I have the
latest nVidia driver but that has caused all sorts of
problems, I have posted to another NG in the hope of a fix but
so far no response.

cheers

Go back to 97.46 (I think), and live with it for a while.. nvidia have
promised better things soon.. we are all in the same boat as you..

Thanks Mike, I guess I can do that but I am having problems with a BOD after
I tried to uninstall the original.

But I will have to find time to work on it.

cheers
