Insufficient file handlers

I have a old program which need a files=99 and buffers=40
in the config.sys file. When this program is run on XP,
it return insufficient file handlers -7 and stop. How to
get around this problem?

Hi,

Try adding it to the system variables. Control Panel/System/Advanced tab,
click on "environmental variables". Add the lines to the system variables
section.
