Hi all,

In one of our co-worker machine is showing the message 'Insufficient
diskspace to take backup' . That message will come in default after logging
into the windows.
Please anybody can advice me to give sufficient diskspace to take backup.

With thanks and regards

And where might the disk drive be located that is getting this "insufficient
disk space" message ?
Remember, no-one here can see the computer. You need to give as much
information as possible, because the cause could be any number of things.

Further to Gordon's question:
- What backup tool do you use?
- What is the exact backup command?
Have a look here: http://66.39.69.143/goodpost.htm before answering.

Not certain but it appears you have an automated backup scheduled, and your
hd is low on availble free space.

It may not have been made explicit in other responses,
but about the last place to make important backups is
the hard drive you are backing up. One highly important
reason for backing up is in case your hard drive dies
(certainly, there are other reasons too). OK, it just died;
how to you intend to restore from one of your backups?
If, on the other hand, you are backing up to external media,
such as a USB-connected removable drive, then
(1) get rid of some old backups you will now never use, or
(2) _get_a_bigger_drive_. Only the financially challenged
(not likely in a commercial environment) should need to
consider cost, with present prices, significant in doubling,
quadrupling or whatever, the size of external backup devices.

Follow these steps:
1. Look under the sofa cushions for spare change.
2. Buy a bigger hard drive with the coins.

I bought an external USB, 1 terabyte drive last week from Frys for $77.00.
