After what was perceived to be a possible hacker attack
from a web site, I immediately disconnected my computer
from the internet. Over a period of days, as I was moving
files off my computer so I could do wipe my hard disk,
performance degraded to the point where I now cannot use
Windows 2000 at all. All I get is an Explorer.exe error:

The instruction at "0x77fc9ba0" referenced memory
at "0x00720065." The memory could not be "written."

I tried reinstalling Windows through the upgrade choice,
but still get that error message. I get the error message
whether the computer is in SAFE mode or the regular
Windows mode.

What can I do to access Windows functionality long enough
to get the rest of my files off the computer. At this
point, the files are e-mail files that are important to me.

Thanks,
Lee Anne
