InstallShield is used to install programs onto a computer -
it asks you where you want to install the program and
etc. etc. My copy came with the Borland Delphi compiler.
InstallShield is not part of XP. Ask the 'certain ISP'
if they use it to install their updates. I've never seen
your problem mentioned in this forum - which is probably
why nobody has answered you.
Contact your ISP and see if they use it to deliver
upgrades. If so then get some help from them - this isn't
an XP or HP problem. If they don't use it then you should
try to figure out where it came from - have you installed
any new software recently?
Go to Control Panel/Add or Remove programs and see if
InstallShield is listed - if it is then consider trying to
remove it. Sorry I couldn't be more specific.
