I am not sure what application put Installshield Update Manager on my
machine. The "Update Manager" is only set to update itself and I have
managed to turn this feature off. I have no need for this product and there
is no way to uninstall it from the add/remove programs applet in control
panel. Visiting the Installshield site did not help and they do not provide
any way to send them questions. I was wondering if anyone out there could
suggest a way to remove this program from my machine.

Thanks,

Irwin

If you want, you can use TweakUI to hide the applet from the Control Panel or just
remove/relocate/delete the "isuspm.cpl" entry from the C:\Windows\System32 folder.

Microsoft TweakUI specifically for Windows XP

Look around in Start | All Programs. One of the programs there should
have a sub menu that contains an entries for starting the program,
possibly for other utilities and one entry for product update with the
install shield manager icon. Start the product update and go to
settings to turn off automatic update. That will also tell you which
program group installed it.

Another option is to remove the entry for it to start automatically by
running msconfig. Go to the startup tab and uncheck the entry for
ISUSpm.exe.
