Installing XP

I have fujitsu Amilo D series laptop. I tried to install XP pro but got
bellow message

"The bios in this system is not fully ACPI compliant. Please contact your
system vendor for an updated bios. If you are unable to obtain an updated
bios or the latest bios supplied by your vendor is not ACPI compliant, you
can turn off ACPI mode during text mode setup. To do this, simply press the
F7 key when you are prompted to install storage drivers. The system will not
notify you that the F7 key was pressed - it will silently disable ACPI and
allow you to continue your installation."

Manage to sort that out by pressing F7 during the installation but after
that it loads some file and then does nothing. I have message on the setup
screen which is " Setup is starting Windows" but that has been there last 30
minutes and no sign of any other action.

What might be wrong??

What does Fujitsu tech support say? What operating system was on the
laptop before?
