While there might be a hardware problem here, we really can't tell that from
the information you supplied.
When you say you "replaced the drive". Are you saying you removed the drive
and installed a different WD drive? But you still get some error message re
a corrupt drive when you try to install the XP operating system?
Could you be more precise and provide details as to how you performed the XP
installation process and at what point did you get that "corrupt drive
error" message and tell us exactly what the message stated?
If you suspect a hardware problem involving the HD, have you run WD's
diagnostic on it? I assume the WD drive you're working with is a brand-new
drive, right?
Is there anything about your previous "harddrive crash" that you think might
shed some light on this current problem?
