Installing XP with Bootable CD...

Hey guys. Last time a few members helped me out a great deal yesterday but
now I'm back with a new question, I know exciting right?

Anyway, I did go in to BIOS settings to set the CD-ROM drive to boot first
before the hardrive, and it did do something different; it came to a black
screen and then with lots of words on it, with at the bottom a blinking
cursor where it says ADS or something, I can't remember the letters, this
isn't my computer right now. Then it said CD-ROM. The CD was in, what do I
do from there, I hit any key, then pressed enter, F8, I did those and it did
nothing except go to a menu to ask what I wanted to do; limited options like
Normal Windows Start up, Safe mode run, last good configuration. So, where
do I go from there to install XP. I already have XP service Pack 2, I just
want to restart and start fresh. I have everything, just not sure where to
go from there.

PLEASE HELP! lol

Once you boot to Win XP CD (or w/SP2) and you hit any key as required, do
"not" hit any more keys!!

Setup will start and start copying files. Let it do its thing.

You want it a "Clean Install", it appears.
Do "not" repair current install. Chose Clean Install on partition or hard
drive that Windows is currently installed.

the only thing I know is that when it boots from cd it should say, press any
key to boot from cd rom.
If your not getting that message there is a problem with your boot process.

So long as your CD-ROM is set as the first boot option, as soon as you
restart your pc the screen will go black a flashing cursor appears in the
top left hand corner of the screen followed by 'To boot from CD Press Any
Key' All you need do then is press Enter and the CD should engage and the
installation program begin.
