installing XP to empty hard disk

Set the CMOS to boot from the optical drive, start the computer with the
instalation media in the optical drive then follow the prompts.

How do it boot to cmos?
 
read messages at bottom of screen during bootup!!!!!

could be "DEL", or a "F" key

or

contact computer mfg tech support
