Installing XP over 98

Trying to install XP in place of Windows 98. Hangs up at
the end of copying installation files. This happens
whether I try to upgrade or replace the operating
system. There was a FAQ some time ago that addressed a
similar problem for Windows 95, but said it didn't apply
to 98. Help!
