Installing XP Home Over XP Pro

I am currently running XP Pro v2600 and have just purchased XP Home. Is there
anything on the Microsoft website that I can go to for instructions on how to
install the Home version properly? Any suggestions would be greatly
appreciated.

You can not install XP Home ontop of Pro. You will need to reformat and let
Home install.

Why would you need Home when you have Pro? Pro has more settings/programs
than Home.

XP Home is NOT an upgrade for XP Pro. You have to perform a clean
format/install. You will lose everything on the install partition/drive. If
you have XP Home - Upgrade, you will need a CD from a previous Windows
version, as proof, to install.

First of all, note that there is no way to downgrade from XP
Professional to XP Home. The only way to install Home if you have
Professional is by a clean installation, losing everything on the
drive.

Second, why do you want to do this? Are you aware that XP Home is
a subset of XP Professional? There are a few features missing in
Home, but nothing extra that Professional doesn't have. You
really wouldn't achieve anything by doing this.

So unless yours is some special situation that I don't
understand, you may want to consider trying to return the XP Home
CD you bought.

The only way to change from WinXP Pro to WinXP Home is to
format the drive and start over. There is no supported downgrade path
or technique.

Simply boot from the WinXP installation CD. You'll be offered the
opportunity to delete, create, and format partitions as part of the
installation process. (You may need to re-arrange the order of boot
devices in the PC's BIOS to boot from the CD.)

Thanks to all of your suggestions. I realize what I want to do "sounds"
crazy but I am doing it because the XP Pro I am running now is the original
version and I don't have the original CD and the extras it has that aren't
included in the Home version are really unnecessary for me personally.
