Installing WinXP from Hard-Disk???

Hi,

I have a laptop and I need to install Windows XP Pro SP2 on it, but the
CD-ROM drive is broken so I can't install Windows from CD. Is there another
way to do it?

Visit eBay and search for a replacement for your defective
CD drive. How are you going to install other software without
a properly functioning CD drive?

CD drive. How are you going to install other software without
a properly functioning CD drive?

Essentially true but if the OP can get the laptop connected
to a network, then installing via the network is a possibility.
Same possibility if the laptop has the capability to start from
an external USB enclosure.

Another thing you could do is take your CD of win XP to a desktop o
another computer with both cd and floppy ( or if your laptop does no
have a floppy drive you could you a flash drive) what you do is pu
both the cd and the blank floppy in the computer ( Not your laptop
Yet) wait for the xp install program to open then exit out of it
then goto my computer, right click on the cd - rom click explore the
wait for the window to open up, then there will be a list of program
open up, find the one titled setup, then right click on it and selec
copy, then go back to the my computer screen open up the floopy icon
then while in the floopy (or in some case the removable drive o
flash drive) right click in the blank area and select paste. wait
moment remove the floopy disk of flash drive. then insert it int
your laptop and open the setup program ( remeber you sould no longe
need the cd for this part But you will the the actvation code. The
