Installing Windows Vista Home but having problems

Hi,

I bought Windows Vista Ultimate and installed it on two computers. I wasn't
aware you could only install it on one and I already activated it on one of
the computers. I have a copy of Windows Vista Home that was never used so I
tried to install that. The computer I tried installing it into is the
ultimate that hasn't been activated and when I sign into my account it
automatically says I have to activate it. I put the Home edition CD into my
computer and restarted it. I started set up but after I typed in the product
key it said to install it from my existing version of windows but I can't use
my existing version because it needs to be activated and you can't do
anything. I need to use both computers. Please help. Thank you.

You should just be able to stick the Vista Home Premium DVD in a drive,
after first ensuring that a CD/DVD drive is chosen as the first boot device,
restart the system and the install should proceed. You have to boot from
the DVD to install a clean copy of Windows Vista.

At startup ther will be a key number given to go into BIOS or boot setup. F2,
Delete, F12, etc.
Change your boot order tto boot from CD/DVD Drive 1st. Have the home disk in
the drive, reboot the comp, and follow instructions after the files are
loaded, to delete the existing vista partition, make a new partition, format
the drive, install a NEW copy of vista.
