installing Windows onto a hard disk salvaged from a Mac?

Will there be any problems if I attempt to install Windows XP onto a hard
drive taken from a Mac? It still has OS X on it, and hasn't been formatted.
Should the disk be formatted on a Mac first?

Boot from the Win XP CD . You will be given the option to partition and
format the drive before installation begins.
