I have xp pro, on fat32, and I can play any of my games from windoze 3.1,
and most of my dos games too. Many of the old programs require .dll files
that aren't in xp, so you might have to find things like vbrun200.
I think the key is fat32.

I realize that my earlier post was a link to a set of instructions that
assumed you had the Win98 install files on a CD-ROM. If you don't, then
you may have consider some kind of alternative strategy. Maybe you can
install the old HD as a slave on the new machine, and install Win98 to
it from the install files on the WinXP disk. I'm not sure how that
would work, but it may be your only alternative.
