Windows Xp installation

My harddisk on my laptop is failing and I use the i386 file to install
on a pc. After servicing my laptop,can i reinstall the xp on the
laptop with a new harddisk? I will then uninstall the xp from my pc as
the intention was to check if the i386 works. ( its dual boot on
win98 )

will i have any problems?

How can i check if my version is oem or not? its a xp professional

If it is OEM from the computer manufacturer it should be branded as such.
If it is a system builder OEM cd it will say "For installation on a new
computer or a computer without an operating system."

If you have the cd, why don't you just reinstall Windows with it?
