Installing W2K in a new laptop?

G

G.I.O.

I have W2K on several of my computers in my office. I like W2K and it
always work well for me
and my video work.

I need to purchase a laptop. Does not have to be the latest and
greatest. If I buy new most of the
locally sold products come with XP Home. Is there any reason I would not
want to trash the OS and install W2K in one of these systems beyond the
obvious loss of the warranty?

The question should be; Why do you feel the need to revert to an older OS
who's mainstream support ended almost a year ago?

So you would suggest using WP Home Edition in place of W2K-SP4 for video
editing type work, Adobe After Affects, Photosphop, FPT uploads/downloads.
This would be as good as or better in terms of stability and relability....
that is, what I've come to expect from my good old W2K OS?

Yes, I would. Home or Professional depending on your situation. If you're
not joining it to a domain then Home version will work fine.
