Installing trial XPEmbedded tools

Just downloaded the XPEmbedded stuff from the MS website. However, I'm
missing a few clues as to how to get this stuff installed and running.

Clearly I need to install MSSQL2000. When I try to run the install that is
included in DISK1/MSDE I get an error telling me I need to specify a strong
PW. The 'help' information about specifying a password assumes I have a
running MSSQL system.

I've missed some installation instructions. Can anyone point me to the
instructions?
