Hi!

Is there any way to install SP2 on XP without having the firewall being
enabled after reset?

Running NetOP on a few computers through VPN and they can't be accessed
after SP2 upgrade..

Start > Control Panel > Windows Firewall.

How to disable balloon pop up for XPSP2 security
Click the balloon (Security Center) and go to the area where the
Firewall set up is. That means open Security Center.
Now look at the List under "Resources" on the Left hand side of the
Security Center Window.
Do you see the one option that says "Change the way Security Center
alerts me" ?
It's the last one in the list
Now click it!
You can uncheck the Balloon pop ups not only for your Firewall being
off, But also if you have auto updates turned off and Virus protection
alert having been set to off, too! If you uncheck all three boxes, no
more "Balloon Thingy" each time you boot up.

The thing is that I want to install SP2 without having the firewall being
enabled. I want to install SP2 on a remote comupter and would like to control
it after the service pack being installed. So I would like to be able to
install SP2 with the firewall disabled directly.

Using a search engine with the enquiry tailored to suit, may be the
best way.
