installing software

I have a QuickBooks program I am trying to install on my computer with a
CD-ROM. I try to run E:install and get a pop up "File Error - Cannot find
SHELL.DLL. I did a search for the file and it is on my hard drive. What do
I do to find the file and install QB on my computer?

and scan for spyware with spybot from
safer-networking.org and update and scan and remove checked
items.
also use ad-aware from lavasoftusa.com
both are free
