Installing Software on Windows XP Home Edition - Permissions issue

I am new to Windows XP and need some help with installing software. I used
to run W2K.

I have installed several pieces of software while logged into my account
which has administrator privileges. All of the software works fine when
logged into my account. However, no one else can run the software. If I
always install software in 'safe mode' will this correct this problem? What
do I have to do with the software I've already installed to make it so
everyone can use it?
