I am installing an internal WD ide HD.
I have it set up as slave drive and have changed the pins on the master and
slave.
New hard ware has identified it and installed it.
Device manager lists it and says its working properly.
My computer refuses to list it??!! Any ideas please?

Guy, try setting them up as cable select on both drives. Also, check in
Control Panel>AdminTools>Computer Manage>
Disk Management. If it shows up there see if you can rt click on it and
give it a drive letter.

hi well that just means that you just have to partion
and forman your hard drive for my computer to list it and
you do that in the administrative tools and computer
management, then click disk management

Yes, thanks to you both.

Did not respond to the CS idea but when I reverted to the master slave
set-up and went into admin tools etc a wizard started up initialising it and
when I went to assign a new volume another wizard started. It's formatting
now.

Thanks again Guy
