Installing/Replacing Laptop Hard Drive

Have had Dell Inspiron 600 laptop for three years and my hard drive
failed. Won't even boot up. Get the message "Primary Hard Disk Drive
not Found. Have a new WD 80gb hard drive to replace it. So how dow i
get the computer to recognize the new har drive? Laptop will not boot
up? I have gone to WD's website and downloaded drivers and burned them
to a cd. Now what? Thanks.

Insert your Dell recovery CD/DVD in the drive. Boot from it and restore the
computer to the factory setup.
