installing quickbooks to vista

QB Pro 2000 is not compatible with Vista. It's 7 years out of date.
Even if you COULD get it installed, you would have nothing but trouble.

Log in as an administrator user.
Install Quickooks to say "C:\users\public\QB" instead of letting in install
in its default destination folder (c:\program files\intuit.....etc).

What happens is you will then be using the "user data area" hence
unprotected area just for Quickbooks. Quickbooks will then work correctly
except for some minor known irritations caused by IE7 which I am able to live
with. Activate your Quickbooks over the phone.

(To me this is much better than going back to XP since everything else is
more secure and nicer in Vista.)

Get the latest compatible version of Quickbooks - only when available & if
you can afford it. In Austalia, a vista/ie7 compatible version of Quickbooks
would be the 2007/2008 version which is still not yet released (eta April
2007).
