I am trying to upgrade from W98se to XP Professional and
am getting error FEFF58h, I have tried searching the MS
Knowledge base and on here but cannot find any reference
it - any ideas anyone?

Installation errors with Microsoft operating systems are usually due to
faulty hardware. From your error message, I'd say you have some bad
RAM. You can test the RAM with Memtest86 (www.memtest86.com) or just
take the machine to a good local computer shop and have them do it for
you.
