I have an old 20 Gig hard drive with Windows ME on it and would like to
install in on my computer with Windows XP. I don't have the money to take it
in anywhere to have it wiped clean, can I install in on my machine and format
it myself, if so how can it be done?

Set the jumpers as primary slave, drop the drive into the box on the second
slot on the ribbon cable, boot, let Windows load the hardware drivers, right
click the drive in My Computer, and select format. Else start > run >
compmgmt.msc > enter > drop down to Disk Management and make your changes in
there.
