Installing Office XP on new Vista computer

When attempting to install Office XP from original disc (previously used on
an older computer) on new Vista computer, "Error opening installation log
file. Verify that the specified log file location exists and is writable"
was encountered.

Try right clicking the install file, and select "Run as Administrator".

A possible solution:

Run in Windows XP compatible mode.
