Installing new(older version) software

I get the following error message: 16 Bit Windows Subsystem
C:\windows\system\autoexec.nt
The system file is not sutable for running MS Dos and Microsoft Windows
applications. Choose Close to terminate application

I have tried to correct this by following the instruction in the Windows
Help & Support area but it was very vague and I thought I followed all the
directions correctly but it still didn't work.

I have heard that you can run old programs in "compatability mode". Try
googling it.

I'm sorry this is a bit vague but it might put you in the right direction
at least
