Installing new graphics driver

I want to update my 9700pro, so I uninstalled its old driver and rebooted.
But everytime I do this it automatically loads up the old driver, so I don't
even get the chance to update the card. I have deselected the system restore
feature but it made no difference. Can anyone help out?

When I update the drivers for my ATI Radeon 9600 Pro I just install them on
top of the existing drivers and it has worked just fine.

When I tried to do what you tried, in the past, I could never get it to work
as ATI seems to think it shoud, or could, or would. So I decuded to just try
to install the new drivers over the old ones and it has worked for the past
updates of the Catalyst drivers from 3.5 to 4.7

You might want to try Driver Cleaner 3.2 It's free here. http://www.majorgeeks.com/download3214.html
Once you've done that then get the latest drivers from ATI. http://www.atitech.ca/support/drive...&prod=productsXPdriver&submit.x=13&submit.y=3
